Facebook Affirmation verses Divine Affirmation

You are beautiful. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You were woven together by the hand of God and he created every intricate detail and called it very good.

He didn't make a mistake; He made you exactly the way you are…on purpose; everything about you He created on purpose.

To some he's given extraordinary beauty--beauty that to some is exquisite today, but would have been disgraceful centuries ago; to others--beauty that is inadequate today but was desirable centuries ago. And to others He's given outward beauty that turns sour as soon as the first tone or attitude or expression is made that reveals the condition of the heart.

Men foolishly praise the beautiful and charming woman. When we flaunt our beauty in front of them, we tempt them to misplace their praise. It is the woman who fears the Lord who ought to be praised.

You have value, you have worth - not because social media tells you so - but because you were created in the image of God, who loves you. You don't need social media to give you self-worth. You don't need the opinion and praise of others to give you self-worth. Does your Creator see you as beautiful; does your husband find you attractive?

Stop there.

That's all that matters.

Do not ask for or listen to any other opinion.

(Psalm 139:13-15; Genesis 1:27,31; I. Peter 3:4)

Parents, the next time our daughters express their kind and gentle spirit, let's tell her she is beautiful. The next time she is sassy or hot-tempered or selfish, let's teach her that is ugly. Let's instill in our children an accurate definition of true beauty. And let's do the same for our sons.
